This is the Lost and Found of old photographs for our Walsh County Pioneers. We will post your request on this page for others to see and maybe make a connection. Contact Mary Kovarik, WCHS Special Projects, at [email protected] for more information.
This photograph was found hanging on the wall in Marge Machart’s house in Lankin, North Dakota. Please contact us if you know who she is.

My great-great grandfather, Erick A. Egge lived in Vesta Township, Walsh County, from the mid-1800s to the time of his death in 1915. I found his inclusion in the Walsh County History ( Vol 2, pg. 1007), as well as a very blurry photo on Ancestry (included here). My great-grandma Alma Egge Jorgenson (later Robinson) was his daughter. Growing up, I always asked to see family pictures and she didn’t have any to share. I’m hoping someone has an original photo.

I am hoping someone associated with your organization or community may be able to identify these people. They were in an album belonging to Ingeborg and Kittle Knudsen (aka Knutson) who lived in Walsh County and who, along with their extended family were church and community supporters. Their family attended Odalen Lutheran Church and Zion Lutheran Church. Ingeborg aka ‘Belle’ was friends with Rev. Flaten’s wife, Bodil Flaten. Perhaps some descendants or history buffs may recognize one or some of these people so they can be correctly identified. The album also contained a photo of Bodil Flaten and two teen or adult daughters.
